They have terrible eyesight but their senses of smell and touch as well as their. They store food and hibernate if it gets too cold. All hamsters are nocturnal or active at night. They like to live in warm dry areas like sand dunes and on the edges of deserts.
They burrow and live in underground tunnels. They live in dry places like sand dunes steppers and the edge of the desert. In the wild hamsters live in the desert or rocky places as they originally hail from syria and northern china. Hamsters like dry places and burrow underground to save themselves from high temperature variations.
There are 26 different species of wild hamster living around the world including in syria and the far east. In the wild they like to live in warm dry areas like sand dunes or the edge of deserts which explains why the first hamsters were discovered in syria. The robo hamster lives in a similar territory to the siberian hamster although this hamster s territory extends into parts of northern china as well. The roborovski hamster or robo hamster is also more commonly known as the desert hamster in the wild.
