Saturn s rings are the most magnificent. Jupiter saturn uranus and neptune. The most prominent and most famous planetary rings in the solar system are those around saturn but the other three giant planets jupiter uranus and neptune also have ring systems. Despite being the smallest it s extremely dense.
They are bright wide and colorful. They are the four giant gas planets jupiter saturn uranus and neptune. In total saturn has a system of 12 rings with 2 divisions. In fact it s the second densest planet after earth.
Jupiter s ring is thin and dark and cannot be seen from earth. Rings reside almost everywhere in our solar system s rubble ridden realms. Four the planets in the solar system have rings. It has the most extensive ring system of any planet in our solar system.

Most people associate planetary rings with saturn because its rings are more visible and colorful compared to the other planets. It s also the closest planet to the sun making it dangerous to explore. Uranus has nine dark rings around it and neptune s rings are also dark but contain a few bright arcs. Before haumea s were discovered astronomers found rings around the 250km wide asteroid 10199 chariklo and the 200km wide minor planet 2060 chiron.
Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest planet in our solar system. Jupiter saturn uranus and neptune are the four planets in our solar system that have rings. The rings have numerous gaps where particle density drops. Recent evidence suggests that ring systems may also be found around other types of astronomical objects including minor planets moons and brown dwarfs and as well the interplanetary spaces between planets such as venus and mercury.
It is not the only planet to have rings but none are as spectacular or as complex as saturn s.
