The cornea serves as a protective covering for the front of the eye and also helps focus light on the retina at the back of the eye.
The amacrine cells also exhibit lateral connections in this inner plexiform layer. Light enters the eye by passing through the transparent cornea and aqueous humor. The main function is to refract the light along with the lens. After passing through the cornea light travels through the pupil the black dot in the middle of the eye.
The cornea is the external covering of the eye. The choroid lies between the retina and the sclera which provides blood supply to the eye. The iris controls the size of the pupil which is the opening that allows light to enter the lens. Just like any other portion of the body the blood supply gives nutrition to the various parts of the eye.
